On Saturday I had the opportunity to take portraits of Lorelei, a San Diego realty photographer, designer and realtor. When she contacted me to take her headshots, we learned that we have met previously during a photography Meetup. Just goes to show you that it really is a small world!
Like me, Gwen is a Mid-West transplant. She gave up Ohio living for San Diego a year and a half ago and hasn’t looked back since. When not providing coaching services through ANISA, she can usually be found working out. Our session, while short, was filled with laughter and more smiles than I could capture. I immediately felt a connection with the Gwen and can’t wait to work with her again.
Last Sunday, Davida braved a cool, drizzling morning for our portrait session together. The San Diego resident works as a music therapist and certified yoga instructor and is the founder of YogaDrum. I got the opportunity to see her flexibility first hand as she ran through a yoga routine. Towards the end of our session, Davida created some soothing music using a singing bowl.
I’d like to introduce you to Skylar. This handsome 15-year-old is a high school basketball player who is interested in getting into modeling. When he asked me in December if I would take some head shots for him, I was thrilled.
His mother and I became friends more than a year ago, and when I first met Skylar, his upbeat, carefree personality was immediately apparent. There are great things in store for this young man, and I can’t wait to see it all unfold.
The day after Christmas, I had a beach session with a couple from Lemon Grove. I learned that they have been married for about a year and a half and found out just before the session that they are having a baby girl! Congratulations to the two of you. I know 2015 will be a year filled with great memories.
One of the things I love most about living in San Diego is being surrounded by beaches, so you can image how thrilled I was to get a call from the Adyantha family a few days before Christmas asking if I had any availability after the holiday. The San Francisco couple had planned a trip to Southern California to celebrate their baby girl’s first birthday. They booked a rental right on the beach and spent a few days surrounded by family from all over the United States. Thank you Adyantha Family for including me in your vacation. I hope you enjoyed your time here!
Last Saturday, I did a family session that included a six-day old newborn. I’m always amazed at how beautiful, peaceful and perfect these little guys always are.
The family consisted of four kids all under the age of five (the oldest turned six the day after our session), which means this little guy will have plenty of built-in friends and protectors from what can be a harsh world.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your new little guy’s life Newhart Family!
As the year comes to a close, I’d like to start my first blog post by simply reflecting on a few of my favorite portraits of the year. I am grateful to everyone who has given me the opportunity to play a small role in their lives, and I am looking forward to meeting more people and capturing more moments as 2014 comes to a close and 2015 begins.
