San Diego Senior Portraits: Balboa Park

Meet Camerynn. She loves art and will be going to college in San Fransisco in the Fall. We met at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park with Camerynn’s mom on Mother’s Day. This San Diego senior has such a sweet personality and I know she’ll do great next school year.

San Diego Senior Portraits: Sunset Cliffs

Meet Brianna, a college senior at Point Loma Nazarene. I met her and her mother (who drove down from Temecula that afternoon) in April for portraits to celebrate Brianna’s senior year. She took a break from studying for finals and we had some fun at Sunset Cliffs.

Best of luck Brianna as you prepare for your next steps in life!

Colt turns 1!

I can’t believe it’s already been a year! If you’ve been following along on my adventures for the last year or so, you may remember meeting Colt’s mom and dad during their maternity session. A few months later, we met Colt during a family session. The Esgate family celebrated his first birthday with a “Where the Wild Things Are” -themed birthday party including a personal cake for the birthday boy and a pinata for all the kids.

I know this year will bring this lovely family many more memories, smiles and tons of love.

Photo Adventures in La Jolla

This year, I have been blessed to be able to photograph several repeat clients. This means so much to me, not only because by booking a session with me again, they are saying they enjoyed their previous experience, but it also allows me a chance to catch up with them and see what’s new in their lives.

I met Ms. Rhonda last year while she was vacationing in La Jolla. We spent nearly three hours together exploring the Cove and some of downtown. She said she would be back this year, and I was thrilled when she let me know her dates. This year, we had rain and we kept pushing back our session. We finally decided to just do it, and Ms. Rhonda came  and I both came armed with umbrellas to incorporate into the session.

I had so much fun, and can’t wait until your next yearly trip to San Diego!

San Diego Portraits: Houser Family at Mission Trails

If these faces look familiar, it may be because I photographed them a year ago at Balboa Park. We met this year at Mission Trails where I was about to witness just how much Brandon and Deagan had grown since our last session. I also go to see Shannon’s beautiful new hair color. It was such a pleasure working with the Houser family again, and I hope we can continue the tradition.

San Diego Maternity Portraits at Del Mar Beach

You met the Davis family last year during a Coronado family session. This year, they were celebrating the upcoming arrival of the newest Davis. We met at Del Mar’s dog beach where we caught up until a gorgeous sunset signaled the end of the day.

Congratulations Davis family and lots of blessings as your family grows!

San Diego Engagement Session at Balboa Park

Meet Hillary and Jeryan. They are engaged. We met on a weekend in February at Balboa Park. While Jeryan looked for a parking spot, Hillary and I chatted a bit. I learned that Jeryan moved to San Diego from Long Beach and is in the IT field. Hillary is a teacher and an artist. In fact, she’s drawn up some pretty cool wedding-inspired animals to use as decorations for their big day.

Best of luck to the both of you as you prepare to spend your lives together!

Ky turns 5!

Earlier this year, my little man turned 5 years old. I love the idea of documenting each year with a photo, and this year I had all sorts of plans for his session including a few locations in La Jolla and downtown San Diego. On the day of the shoot, my guy decides he’d rather stay home. In my attempts to go with the flow, we compromised and turned the staircase of our complex into the set of Ky’s five-year-old session.

I think it turned out well, and Ky even helped with the wardrobe selection! Happy birthday little man.

Lost Love Portrait Session: Collaboration with Heather Wight Photography

I had the absolute pleasure to work with a talented group of professionals earlier this year on a fun, dark, Valentine’s-Day inspired photoshoot. Natalie Blea is a talented model and marine biologist who has worked with numerous San Diego photographers, Hannah Breski is an amazing hair stylist who works at La Dolce Belladonna Salon (she also did Natalie’s makeup), and Heather is the owner of Heather Wight Photography and a co-worker at my day job. It was so much fun swapping ideas and learning from one another!
