The Hunters are familiar faces on this blog. I met this loving family three years ago during a session in Balboa Park, and in January, we create family portraits at Torry Pines when Amber’s mother was in town. This year, I had the honor of photographing the Hunters in the backyard of their brand new house!
Meet the Campbell family. Kimberly was one of the winners of a silent auction at College Avenue Baptist Preschool where her daughters and my son attend. Among the prizes she and her mother won, was a session with me. We met on an overcast Saturday morning in August where I met her darling daughters, Claire and Hanna, and her husband Rob. This beautiful family was so easy and fun to work with and their connection with each other was effortless.y photographed
Thank you Campbell family for spending a Saturday morning with me!
These two families meet for the first time at Presidio Park in June to celebrate the birth of their grandson.
Meet Emma! She had her first birthday in March. Her portrait session was scheduled in April, but with chilly temps and rain in the forecast, Emma’s mom Stephanie and I decided to postpone the shoot. Fast forward about a month… Emma has learned to walk! This little doll wanted to explore every nook at Mission Trails and her parents and I just followed along.
Happy Birthday Emma! Here’s to many more wonderful years!
I can’t believe it’s already been a year! If you’ve been following along on my adventures for the last year or so, you may remember meeting Colt’s mom and dad during their maternity session. A few months later, we met Colt during a family session. The Esgate family celebrated his first birthday with a “Where the Wild Things Are” -themed birthday party including a personal cake for the birthday boy and a pinata for all the kids.
I know this year will bring this lovely family many more memories, smiles and tons of love.
If these faces look familiar, it may be because I photographed them a year ago at Balboa Park. We met this year at Mission Trails where I was about to witness just how much Brandon and Deagan had grown since our last session. I also go to see Shannon’s beautiful new hair color. It was such a pleasure working with the Houser family again, and I hope we can continue the tradition.
Meet Hillary and Jeryan. They are engaged. We met on a weekend in February at Balboa Park. While Jeryan looked for a parking spot, Hillary and I chatted a bit. I learned that Jeryan moved to San Diego from Long Beach and is in the IT field. Hillary is a teacher and an artist. In fact, she’s drawn up some pretty cool wedding-inspired animals to use as decorations for their big day.
Best of luck to the both of you as you prepare to spend your lives together!
Earlier this year, my little man turned 5 years old. I love the idea of documenting each year with a photo, and this year I had all sorts of plans for his session including a few locations in La Jolla and downtown San Diego. On the day of the shoot, my guy decides he’d rather stay home. In my attempts to go with the flow, we compromised and turned the staircase of our complex into the set of Ky’s five-year-old session.
I think it turned out well, and Ky even helped with the wardrobe selection! Happy birthday little man.
Meet Avari. She is a lively 7-year-old with seemingly unlimited energy and an ability to make everyone around her smile. I met Avari and her mom, Aimee, at Balboa Park to take some updated portraits of Avari, who has done pageants and is trying to get into modeling.
I know you will be great at whatever you put your mind to, and can’t wait until we have the opportunity to work together again!
