Earlier this year, my little man turned 5 years old. I love the idea of documenting each year with a photo, and this year I had all sorts of plans for his session including a few locations in La Jolla and downtown San Diego. On the day of the shoot, my guy decides he’d rather stay home. In my attempts to go with the flow, we compromised and turned the staircase of our complex into the set of Ky’s five-year-old session.
I think it turned out well, and Ky even helped with the wardrobe selection! Happy birthday little man.
Meet Avari. She is a lively 7-year-old with seemingly unlimited energy and an ability to make everyone around her smile. I met Avari and her mom, Aimee, at Balboa Park to take some updated portraits of Avari, who has done pageants and is trying to get into modeling.
I know you will be great at whatever you put your mind to, and can’t wait until we have the opportunity to work together again!
I was thrilled when Kaysie told me she wanted a Frozen-themed portrait session for her two girls. I’m a big fan of musicals, and love movies that include a catchy soundtrack. We met bright and early on a July Saturday, me with my tiny princess crown, and the girls with their beautiful hand-made dresses. I put the Frozen soundtrack on and the session took off.
The 11-month-old was full of smiles, that is, until she was in front of the camera, but towards the end of the session, with some help from dad, we manged to get an adorable shot of little “Elsa.”
I hope you girls had a great Frozen-themed birthday party, and thanks for letting me have a few moments to play make believe!
