As 2017 ends, I want to take some time to say thank you to all the families and individuals who have allowed me to take part in their lives. I know that it takes trust to invite someone into your world and express yourself on camera, and for that privilege, I am truly honored.
This year has been quite busy as I’ve worked a full-time job with an editing company for professional wedding photographers, gotten involved with a new church and picked up some freelance photography jobs alongside my work with Ese Esan Photography. Because of this, and the need to spend quality time with my husband and son, my blogging has been a bit neglected this year.
I didn’t want to end the year without showcasing some of the incredible families I’ve had the honor of photographing year after year. Please know that you are all appreciated! And for all my first-time clients, I can’t wait to see you in 2018!

Meet the Grayots. If you notice a similarity to another family featured recently on the blog, it’s because Azure is Seneca‘s sister! I met this sweet lady on a December Monday along with her husband, Delon, and their 5-month-old puppy Chanel. We roamed the park in La Jolla before heading down to the beach to watch Chanel experience her first time on sand.
One of my favorite things about being a photographer is capturing life’s moments. Whether it’s the arrival of a new baby, a marriage or just watching children grow, it’s always a blessing and an honor to be invited to document these moments.
Seneca and I met back in 2015 when she was pregnant with her second daughter. We did a family session with Seneca, her husband Blake and their daughters Bronte and Chapel at Balboa Park that Fall. This year, we met at Mission Trails where, we finished our session just before we got one of our few San Diego rainstorms.

Meet Chante and Darius. They are expecting their first child, a little girl. We met early on a Saturday morning where we were greeted by fog at Imperial Beach.
Meet Med and Gail. They got married on a Saturday at Christ Church Unity in El Cajon this September in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
Meet the Campbell family. Kimberly was one of the winners of a silent auction at College Avenue Baptist Preschool where her daughters and my son attend. Among the prizes she and her mother won, was a session with me. We met on an overcast Saturday morning in August where I met her darling daughters, Claire and Hanna, and her husband Rob. This beautiful family was so easy and fun to work with and their connection with each other was effortless.y photographed
Thank you Campbell family for spending a Saturday morning with me!
Meet the Contreras Family. Andrea, Carlos and little Emma Rose and I got together on a Saturday in July for some family and first birthday portraits. Emma Rose was a champ as we dealt with the warm weather and bugs at Mission Trails and mom and dad were adorable with their coordinated outfits. At the end of the session, I found out that one of the reasons Andrea chose me was because my About Me section mentioned that I am a Christian. It felt great to connect over our beliefs in a casual way.
Here’s to a very happy birthday Emma Rose, and I know I’ll have the opportunity to work with the Contreras family again!
Meet the George family. I first had the pleasure of photographing Alex, Shannon and their beautiful daughter, Harper in April for Harper’s 1st birthday portraits. Then in July, I drove to San Clemente to photograph the Georges during their annual family vacation. This lovely family (Alex, Shannon, Harper, Alex’s brother Ben, his wife, Sara, and their son, Cal) were so much fun to work with, and Alex and Ben’s parents even jumped in for a few portraits!
Thank you George family for letting me play a role in your annual vacation, and I can’t wait to work with you all again soon!
