Meet Camerynn. She loves art and will be going to college in San Fransisco in the Fall. We met at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park with Camerynn’s mom on Mother’s Day. This San Diego senior has such a sweet personality and I know she’ll do great next school year.
Janelle & David had a beautiful backyard wedding in Vista late September. The barbecue reception took place after portraits at Guajome Regional Park. Guests mingled under a large white tent on a hill as the sun set over the city.
Congratulations to this fun, laid back couple as their begin their journey together.
The gathering was small, just five guests, the minister, his wife and me, the photographer, but Jacqueline and Alex, high school sweethearts had a cheering section that fit on a single chair. Back in their home country of Germany, friends and family gathered to watch the two get married via a laptop and wife connection. Glasses were raised and tears were shed as Jacqueline and Alex professed their love for each other in a short intimate beach ceremony.
Once the guests were gone, I strolled the beach as the couple enjoyed their first moments of marriage. Congratulations, and thank you for allowing me to capture your special moments.
I met Alexia while she was working as the director of a preschool where I shot portraits. This was a two-day shoot followed by a two-day portrait selection day. Alexia and her staff were so great in helping with the parents that I wanted to do something to show my gratitude. Alexia said she hasn’t had an professional portraits of her family since her daughter was born and she and her family were preparing to move from Imperial Beach to Fort Wayne, Indiana.
We mused at the irony that I grew up in Fort Wayne when we met for a mini session on a gray Saturday morning. Martin family, I hope you had a wonderful cross country trip and have settled into your new home!
Elyse contacted me wanting some portraits for herself and her mother-in-law in honor of Mother’s Day. I met Elyse, her husband and their two-year-old son at Balboa Park and we headed to the rose garden for the first half of the session. The second half took place at the butterfly garden and included Elyse’s mother and father-in-law, their daughter and her husband!
It was so much fun working with this family, and I love that they all came out to help celebrate Mother’s Day. Our morning was so full of smiles and laughter by the end of the session. Thank you for sharing those special family moments with me Johnson family!
It was such an honor to meet Ashley and her husband Trevor who have been in San Diego for almost two years. The pair met in North Carolina and are expecting their first child in two months. Ashley, a student, and Trevor, who is in the military, were so easy and fun to work with.
Congratulations to both of you, and I wish you all the best for the rest of the pregnancy!
I met Rhonda while she was on vacation in La Jolla. We met at the La Jolla Inn and explored much of what the city had to offer including hiking trails, downtown, and, of course, the beach.
Doing this session made me feel like I was on vacation and I can’t wait to work with Rhonda and her family the next time they’re in San Diego!
In November, I got a call from Pallavi wanting to do portraits of her six-month-old son. A few months went by before we nailed down a time and date, and let me say, seeing this little man was worth the wait. The Bhatanager’s son was so laid-back. He smiled so easily — until I pointed the camera at him that is!
He wore a little vest and hat and had the longest eyelashes and cutest curls. I can’t wait to see this guy for his first birthday photos later this year!
Keeley contacted me last month looking to give her boyfriend Cody a gift card for Valentine’s Day. We got her all set, and a few weeks later scheduled Cody’s business headshot session. We meet on a gorgeous Saturday morning in La Mesa, and the pair came prepared with several shirt and tie combinations.
Despite never having done professional photos before, Cody was a natural in front of the camera. He gave off an air of professional confidence that showed easily in his portraits.
Thank you for contacting me Keeley, and I wish you and Cody all the best!
I met the Davis family in mid February when Mark Davis contacted me regarding family portraits. He and his wife Kathy were in town from Ohio for just another day and they wanted to capture some memories of their visit with their son and daughter-in-law Mark and Renee and their grandson Cameron. We met in Coronado near the Ferry Landing. Like most two-year-old boys, Cameron was so full of energy! He wanted to chase birds and pet all the dogs that came across his path.
Thank you for allowing me to capture these precious family moments, and I hope Ohio warms up quickly!
